Hello World!
It’s about time that I checked in. I know a bunch of you are waiting for the follow up to Coming Darkness, and you want to know what’s going on. Well, the good news—I’ve finished it! Yay! The bad news—it’s going to be awhile til I release it into the wild.
What happened was…I gave it to my betas…and the news wasn’t good!

I knew there was a problem, but I didn’t want to acknowledge it. The plot is fine, the characters are fine, the writing could be tweaked—those things weren’t the problem. The problem was that I was trying to squish two full stories into one book! A writer friend mentioned that to me last year, and I was NOT about to hear it!
But… I had to, you know? That was my epiphany…
Dreaming in Shadow is Kai’s book. INSERT TITLE HERE is Lucifer’s book.
…but at that point, I was exhausted.
I poured years of heart and energy into Coming Darkness, and then dove into the Book 2-3 behemoth. I had no energy to even face ripping the book apart and assembling two in it’s place.
I was burnt. So, I put it down.
I apologize for the long wait, but the upside is that you get two books instead of one!
In the meantime, I was writing something completely new. But the story, while interesting, wasn’t really holding my attention. I put that down too. A writing vacation was in order.
Calgon take me away!
So here I am, on vacation. What am I doing with my time? Why learning Korean, of course! I totally blame BTS for that one. I fell in love with those seven adorable young men and their music (along with EXO, and Big Bang, but that’s a longer story).
At first it was just curiosity. What are they saying? Can I learn this language that’s so different from my own?
And then something shifted. I’ve become challenged and enthralled in a way that I haven’t been in a long time. It’s comforting, relaxing, and fun. Go figure.
So, if all goes the way I think it will, I’ll delve back into the books in the new year. Cleansed and refreshed. Wish me luck!
Peace.
